While some circus performers see January and February as a time for rest and recuperation this particular Bristol children's entertainer is deep into 2019 party season. Turns out birthdays happen all year round and I couldn't be happier about it. That first party back after Christmas was a great way to dust off the cobwebs and get back into gear. Myself and Moses are extremely lucky to call this our job, being children's entertainers is both of our full time jobs. We manage to mix big circus performances with awesome children's parties on weekends and I love nothing more than slowly seeing more new enquiries come in for the Bristol kids party market. It's taken a while, we've spent our fair share of time on the M4 and will continue to do so. But slowly but surely we are becoming true Bristol Children's Entertainers and actually performing regularly in Bristol. Hallelujah! Without further ado I present to you 5 ways that Lucas and Moses Bristol's freshest children's entertainers will knock your socks off!
1) Show-stopping circus skills and 2 signature moves that are almost unique to us
The focal point of our children's parties and maybe what sets us apart from other Bristol children's entertainers is our circus show. It's packed full of laughs and maintains a silly streak throughout the 40 minute spectacle, but also features really top notch circus that is comparable to that which you see in the big top. Moses creates impossible shapes whilst upside down in a one armed handstand whilst I can boast some enviable skills on one wheel. Our hat juggling and club juggling routines are both set to an upbeat soundtrack and are highly choreographed featuring some juggling that even the best jugglers in the world can tip their hat to.
It's up to you whether you want to show the kids these tricks or whether you want to keep it a total surprise. I think in all honesty seeing the tricks in real life will add a certain element anyway so I don't think this will ruin it for them.
2) Top Notch Customer Service! 'Wow it looks like these children's entertainers bend over backwards to make your party the talk of the playground!
Most children, if not all children are only six once. How many opportunities to throw your child the mega fifth birthday are you going to get? Only one! We're here to make sure this party not only runs smoothly but is the stand out party of the year. The talk of the playground and a huge event for your child and their friends that will live with them for their whole childhood and beyond.
We will be with you an hour before your party to set your mind at rest and prevent any worries in the back of your mind that you're going to be left with 30 children to entertain single handedly. It really shocks me the amount of last minute enquiries I get from parents saying they have been let down last minute by their children's entertainer! Your party is our absolute priority, the car will be packed the night before and we will be with you rain or shine. Resulting in reviews like the one below. So far though, I would say i've only talked about basic expectations from anyone that wants to become a reputable children's entertainer in Bristol. Now's where it gets interesting...
Our free extras for all circus parties that book us include customised invitations and a beautiful handmade canvas party bag with your birthday child's name on for them as a thank you gift for having us. The birthday party invitation comes in three different designs but to be honest I'm quite adaptable and happy to take some creative criticism, I have even had them printed professionally for the parents that want that extra professional touch. I get them printed in by Greyhound Print in Clifton for a very reasonable price.
3) Bringing out the inner circus star in your little one.
We are based in Bristol, the city once named the European circus capital so perhaps that's why you're looking to book circus performers for your children's party, but this is about more than us. We want the birthday child to be the star in their own right.
This day is already going to be one of the best days they've ever had, we guarantee you it will be the best children's party you have thrown in terms of visual impact and fun factor! But what if there was a way to make it even better and that bit more memorable. Camera phones at the ready...Check out the first 30 seconds of this clips to see what happens with the birthday girl.
It's probably important to stress that this is perhaps the most charisma i've seen from a 6 year old and I wouldn't necessarily expect them all to perform with such pazaz! However we have lots of examples of similarly fantastic performances from young birthday stars. Some of them are shy to start with and we gently encourage them, it has to be voluntary of course but sometimes it can just take a little sweet bribe or a friend to hold their hand while they perform such as in this recent one.
Even if your child possesses no previous acrobatic experience you will be amazed and sometimes emotional watching your little one on stage. The routine is set to a powerful emotive soundtrack song from The Greatest Showman and is the perfect way to start the show. It makes all the chatting parents stop talking and take notice, you can't not be enthralled when the birthday child is balancing on Moses's shoulders. So it becomes a chance for the parents to realise that we're not your average children's entertainers.
4) No need to spend hours wrapping presents for pass the parcel, we've got your party extras covered.
At the end of the show you would be forgiven for thinking that was all from us. But no! We provide a 2 hour party package, so after a brief 20 minute break for food and cake it's straight back into the children's party entertainment provided by us. We don't provide the same thing at every party but of course if you see something in this post and you want to request it then they are all available free of charge. The only limiting factor is time and pairs of hands. If you're trying to get through 4 of the extras and you have 30 children all wanting a go at each then we might have to consider picking and choosing. So why no pass the parcel?
To be honest when you've spent the money to book in two of Bristol's most in demand children's entertainers you deserve to squeeze every ounce of energy out of us. You can always host a longer party and finish on traditional party games ran by yourselves.
Our extras are aimed to be something thats again almost unique to our children's parties after all you want this to be the best kids party Bristol has seen!
You will not find this at any other children's party in the UK let alone Bristol.
Space ship rides on a unicycle segway! A couple of years ago this was really flabbergasting to everyone that witnessed it. I was one of the first in the UK to receive a Ninebot and was gifted it by SpeedyFeet in Gloucester to promote it. I'm not sure this is what he had in mind. But it's been ever so popular and even though people do now see them in day to day life. Not many children have had a go on them.
See the space ship rides in action below. Perfect for the kid thats obsessed with space!
Mega balls - again something that is unique to us and oh so fun!
Not something we bring to all parties so do request it if you're keen. The reason we don't bring it to all parties is because it does take up quite a lot of space so if you're in a tiny village hall it can dominate the space a little bit. Make no mistake this is kids party fun factor 11!
Acrobatic lessons for budding gymnasts and kart wheeling kids
What could be better inspiration than one on one coaching with Moses who they've just seen performing one armed handstand to their favourite Greatest Showman song. I promise the kids will be left wanting more and to be fair I sometimes have to tell Moses to stop, 'stop Moses the party finished an hour ago!'
He will instil so much confidence in your children to learn new skills and forget their fears. They will come away begging to stand on dad's shoulders around the dinner table (we don't recommend this).
This was what the mum said from the party that is photographed above. I love hearing feedback from the Bristol parents for our children's party because it gives me so much job satisfaction and makes for nice reading on cold winter days : )
Rides on a circus bike - wheelie like they've never wheelied before.
Now Bristol might claim to be a cycling city, but I've not seen any families doing this down Gloucester Road. Step it up parents. This is just a really fun thrill for children to feel like they are flying on the front of the bike. I've never experienced it myself but I can tell by the faces in pictures and shrieks of glee/fear that the kids love to experience this at our children's parties.
Are we right to claim to be Bristol's finest children's party entertainers or are we just living in our own little bubble?
I'm not sure if I can answer that question but I can share a couple more strong reviews from happy parents and also share 2 amazing pictures from a children's party in Bishopston in January 2019.
This picture above might be my favourite children's party picture since becoming a full-time entertainer. It's lovely that it was taken in my hometown of Bristol and I'm not sure whether it's that they are Bristol kids that have been exposed to more of the arts than others or whether they were just a great crowd. But I just love this picture.
5) Trapeze workshops - I've included this one separately as it deserves to be acknowledged in it's own right but it does also come at an additional cost.
As part of our work with Bigtopmania we have been providing children's trapeze workshops to children for many years. Camp Bestival the queue is out the door and plays host to a mums royal rumble sometimes to get their children to the front. Trapeze workshops are growing in popularity for adults with fantastic opportunities around Bristol to learn trapeze on a weekly basis. You could attend classes in Montpellier at The Albany or weekly evening classes in Kingswood and St Pauls as part of Circomedia.
I noticed that it was a great addition to our children's parties for those parents wanting to throw the ultimate all encompassing circus theme children's party so we started offering it as an additional service and it's been quite popular. We bring along one of 2 free standing trapeze rigs and children are given the opportunity to become Anne from The Greatest Showman. What a fantastic opportunity.
So that's it for today. I hope Bristol parents that are planning their children's party in the coming months will find it an interesting read. Whether you're booking a village hall in Clifton or you want to host a big top party on the outskirts of Bristol where you've got a bit more space in your garden. I'd love to hear from you.
